FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, JULY 20th, 2004 … Hartwell Corporation, a member of McKechnie Aerospace’s Structures Group, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Bombardier’s Short Brothers plc in Belfast to provide all nacelle related latching products to be used on the CRJ 700 and 900 series regional jet.
According to the terms of the agreement, Hartwell is scheduled to deliver first units by the third quarter of this year. This announcement comes just a day later than the announcement that Hartwell Corporation has also been selected to support Hurel-Hispano with pressure –relief doors for nacelles used on both power plants to be available on the A380, helping to further cement the company’s position as the industry leading engine nacelle related latch manufacturer for wide, standard and regional commercial aircraft. In addition, the company has long been a leading manufacturer for airframe related latches and latching systems for commercial, military and rotary wing aircraft.
TheBombardier CRJ 700 made its maiden flight in May 1999 and was delivered to inaugural customer Brit Air/Air France in January 2001. And, in January 2003, the latest and largest member of this highly successful family-the Bombardier CRJ900-was delivered to Mesa Airlines of the United States.
In recent months, the McKechnie Aerospace Structures and other OEM Groups have won a number of significant contracts from leading aerospace OEMs and prime contractors involved in fixed and rotary-wing commercial and military aircraft production and retrofitting.
